Here is my latest piece... this was an A2 poster designed for an Exhibition at the University Centre Oldham... at the end of the course. The Poster was designed using some photography, image manipulation and some 3D elements. The concept of the hand and the graphical elements around it is to implicate two things, these are digital and desire. First the hand shot in a position where my hand is held out and almost asking or wanting somthing, this is where the desire concept is brought in. Secondly and finaly the digital side, is simply the elements created and edited on and around the hand using both Photoshop and 3D Max.

This piece truly does represent the two concepts of “digital” and “desire”. The single black and white sketch has evolved through two more stages bringing it to life.
It almost seems magical, in the sense that the hands underneath the text appear to belonging to a magician, of which after a few enchanting words, “digital desire” materialises in the palms of his hands.
I feel that the piece does appear to have a mystic nature, as the hands appear to be reaching out, wanting more but also showing “this is what I have created” in relation to the text “digital desire”.
The small white glowing balls coming from the hands, do come across as though they have been released and “digital desire” as been created. Almost as though it were in a children’s cartoon, in the sense that by emitting these magical orbs, “digital desire” has been unleashed.
Overall a superb piece of work!! I look forward to the next creation!!
